Most common V10 or V12

so I'm in the middle of a V6 table build, by in the middle I mean stalled. I have a 4.0 inline 6 Jeep motor to do also, but thinking big I want to scope out a V10 or 12. So what was most common to find either of those in a junkyard or parting out?

I was thinking a V10 from a ram truck, or ford made one I think or a Jag V12. I was not quick enough to get the V12 from local yard (I didn't even go look, just the row52 app)

Thoughts?

Jag V12s are abundant, and available in a condition where you won't feel bad taking one apart. Ford Triton V10s are probably a bit rarer, and more in demand as a replacement part. I'd wager the Jaguar is your best bet.

The Ford and Dodge truck V10s would probably be the easiest to source.

For the V10, a pickup. For the V12, an XJS or maybe, just maybe, a Mercedes.

The truck V10s should be easy enough to find. As for a V12, a BMW M70 from a late 80's/early 90's 750i could be a reasonably attainable in a junkyard, I think. I would expect the Jag to be less common and to have more cache than the bimmer's stuck together straight sixes.

The Triton V10 or the Dodge Magnum V10 would be your best bets. The Triton more so. I cant really say its all that good performance wise, but if you want a V10 that's the common one.

all the old engines from BMW 750 and Merc SL600's come up fairly cheap too. 1500-3000ish for running ones on Ebay.

The old Jag V12 was made for over 20 years, from the early 70s to the mid-90s. Plenty of XJS's and XJ12's out there.

Then there's the Aston-Martin V12 made from two Duratecs, and the Duratec is really common. So many Tauruses out there, and the first-gen Escape/Tribute. Just glue two of them together and there's your Aston V12.

The most common V10 is probably the Ram V10 from the mid-90s to the mid-00s. The Viper/SRT10 V10 is semi-related, probably related enough to answer your question. All of them were based on the old Chrysler LA block, the key difference being that the Viper has an aluminum block and the trucks kept the iron block.

I'm not too sure how many Ford V10's were actually made/sold, but probably far less than Chrysler.

It's also possible that the R8/Gallardo/Huracan is the most common V10 by now, as they sold a ton of them in the past 10 years.

Another vote for the Ford 6.8L Triton V10. Dodge's 8.0L Magnum V10 came out a few years earlier, but I imagine that Ford's is more common. Not only is it in 3/4 and 1-ton trucks, but also in Econolines, medium duty commercial trucks and motorhomes.

You could find a W12 out of a Phaeton? Biggest thing is you want something with horrible reliablity so it is more common to find them in a junkyard or on ebay for cheap.

That or you can just find a W8 out of a Passat and make an end table out of a squatty little block

My Mom & Dad's Class A motorhome has a Triton V10. I wonder if they'd notice if I made it louder...

gas powered Ford Super Duties, E Series vans, most motorhomes, excursions ect.. all use the Triton V10. I guarantee you've seen a ton of them out there.
